I am looking into buying a jensen EVO survivial knife. I was wondering how much they cost and how well they work in the field.

Probably closed to 400 new from Peter. I picked mine up for 300 used. I wish I still had it. It worked well in the chopping department and holds a great edge with Peter's heat treat. That is the extent of what I used it for. I don't have to do to much "survival" in the city. The ability to make a fire when I camp is paramount and the EVO is great at that. The chopping and the ability to split the wood when wet to get the dry parts out the. Hopefully Gundy will chime in to expound the other virtues as reading his eval of the knife got me interested.

Oh, and I sold my EVO to finance another purchase from Peter as a matter of fact, I will say that tomorrow, i will be waiting on four knives that wear the JEB logo. :D

Sounds like someone spent a little money! You must not be married...hahaha :D

I would love to get the big EVO as a supplement to my Tracker. Maybe supplement isnt a good word, but I feel that it sounds to be a good enough excuse to get one. I should have got one a few months ago. Oh well. Maybe in a couple months I will get one..atleast I hope anyway.

Do not! Repeat, do not buy an EVO!

You will want to 'wack' things with it....

Like fingers...ouch! :grumpy:

As far as the EVO and it's strengths, "what Cerb said!" A great pack knife as I call em'. Matched with a multi tool, there is nothing you can not do.

Cerberus,

I know the feeling. My problem is that I always get the "Why do you need that"? My reply is always "It is better to have and not need, than to need and not have"? I guess my wife doesnt see it the same way I do. I grew up on a farm in VA, and my wife is pretty much straight out of Brooklyn! I guess opposites do attract!!!!!!!!!
