What's your advice between the MKII or the shadow I for heavy works, rugged tasks ?
Maybe the Project I or II ?
I hesitate between a blade of 9" or 7,5" !
I have a shadow IV like a basic blade and I love it but a want another blade more long.

My camp/hiking knife of choice in the one piece range is the Sable IV, but the few times I've gone the big blade route, I've used my Shadow I (I don't own any other 9" knives in the OPR, BTW). I believe the Shadow blade profile has the most weight forward for chopping. Would also make a nice match for your 5.5" one piece, if you care about such things.

Good luck with your choices.

The Jeroboam has the Bowie Tip which I like over a spear point. I love it for big task usage.

Can't tell you about the Shadow, because I went for the Jereboam...I also prefer its tip.

Over the past 6 months, I've put the J through brush clearing, timber reduction, campfire stoking, batoning (from some pretty hard wood), and a host of miscellaneous chores. My son even ran over it once...

Only had to sharpen it once. There are a few scuffs, but that's it.

Provided you're comfortable carrying such a large knife, it's a perfect choice. For tough tasks, I prefer the longer blade.

I went with the Shadow 1 as I prefer the spear point for most things. I went with the 9in because I got a screaming deal from a knife shop that was going out of business. I was pleasently suprised how well balanced it felt. It feels like a much smaller knife in the hand.
I don't think you could make a bad choice ether way.
