I recently had a chance to "play" with a tough knife made by a young smith, Jeremy Horton. It's called a Camp Blood (XL version):

The knife is made of 0.25" A-2 steel. It's just shy of 16" long with a 10.25" blade. The blade is fully convexed on both sides and is extremely sharp (as my sore thumb will attest). The handles are hand-smoothed G10. I haven't weighed the blade, but it feels light and lively in the hand.

You can see my mini-review here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7105657#post7105657

The maker has made some interesting videos of his flexture tests: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=646341&highlight=camp+blood

Finally, I looked up a previous Thread that describes a bit of the evolution of this interesting design: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=658032&highlight=camp+blood

I've had a great time testing this fine knife, and I think it would be interesting to folks who spend time in the outdoors.:) I know I'm going to order one, before the prices go up.

[Many thanks to BushcraftBrainTrust for loaning me this knife!]

the convex edges he puts on them should make it a mean chopper!

You know it.

After abusing my thumb, I attached a nice, thick lanyard prior to chopping.

I learned my lessons many decades ago, overseas. Don't worry ... it's only a small scar.:)
