Just prior to Blade I was fortunate to have the opportunity to acquire my first Jerry Fisk knives. This one is an NLT from 2004 and marks my foray into Fisk's! Immediately following I had the good fortune to pickup my second of Jerry's knives at Blade. This Southwest Bowie is one that marks Jerry's 30th year as a maker. As usual it has been dressed up by Mr. Paul Long who again seems to have a knack for making the perfect sheath. Again Buddy Thomason did an outstanding job with both of these knives and I want to thank him once again.

I am really pleased to finally have Jerry Fisk in the collection.

Those are nice but I really like the NLT. I'd love to have a white ivory frame handled Fisk in my collection. Nice job there!

Both are incredible Jon, congrats to you and thanks for the pics!

Fantastic knives and great pics by Buddy. The damscus pattern on the NLT piece is particularly appealing.

Very nice images of two superior knives and sheaths. :cool:
Congrats, Jon ! :thumbup::thumbup:

Hope I'm not going too far off topic but how does one go about getting the designation, NLT ?!

Paul Long what is the dark leather on trhe top of the second sheath

Jon,

Congratulations on getting two beautiful Fisk knives. Those knives are a great way to start a Fisk Collection. I have a few Fisk knives, the NLT's are the cream of the crop.

2 very beautiful knives that are the dream of all advanced collectors. this makers work is only going to escalate in value.

Congratulations on adding a couple Fisk knives to your fine collection.

You chose two great examples.
One being the Southwest Bowie which is one of the style knives that Jerry is most known for and helped get him to where he is today. And of course one of his limited "National Living Treasure" designated pieces which are widely recognized as being among the finest custom knives in the world.

Jerry creates outstanding knives and has worked tirelessly for 30 years helping to bring custom knives to where it is today.

Those are really cool knives in person. :thumbup:

The NLT knife features a damascus blade that is as close to 3D as I've ever seen! Tilt your head slightly and check out those hills and valleys in the top image. Capturing the attribution on the underside of the handle and behind the guard was tricky. Didn't want to omit the nice handle contours - a little side light helped to define those.

If made to pick, I'd go for the 30 Years knife in a heartbeat. The unusual blade pattern plus its unexpected profile works for me as someone who is often attracted to stuff that's 'different.' But the handle WITH the blade is what makes it a slam dunk for me. That's a great stag handle with the perfect end cap, expertly engraved in style and proportion. Paul Long's sheath enhances the package significantly.

What a pleasure it was to shoot these knives. Thanks Jon!
