Hey Jerry,
Just a heads up....the AK's are eating themselves out of the box in transit.
My Postman handed me mine and then handed me the box.
There is also a thread on the for sale board about a "stolen Busse"

The handle is eating it's way though the end of the box with the rest of the knife closely following behind.

Thought you needed to know....

oh, oh, Jerry has created living INFI. Hey can I get a badger that turns itself into an HOFBM? That way I could have all in one..

EEK! I wonder if the AK I have comming is lost or worse?!? A large sum of money for one "Busse" was taken out on 12/02/05 but no AK yet... Mabey I should call the shop tomarrow to see if it was sent...

Received my AK from the company store and there were no problems at all except I had to use my HD to open the package. Great job being done at the Company Store.

The Fusion pommel is pretty "sharp" and I can see how the handle could work its way out. I would suggest wrapping the end of the blade with newspaper etc. and secured with masking tape. My HOG FSH was prepared this way and when I opened it, their was no way that thing was coming out, except from breaking open the box from the sheer weight of the piece. :D

same experience here, only not so bad.

i picked mine up from my door step, walked to the mailbox with it in hand, and by the time i got there the entire handle had fallen through the bottom of the box. i was fine with it, but it would have sucked for the post office people had it happened in transit.

there was no padding at the bottom of the box where the handle was, just open pointy handle. a peice of cardboard taped over the pommel probbably would have sufficed.

Scott and Vicki definitely know how to pack a parcel.
It usually takes at least one knife and some force to get my knives out when they arrive in Australia.

The boxes I've received from the store or from the secondary market have come in pretty good condition. All have had the knives wrapped in bubble wrap or newspaper. So any of the pointy edges have been prepared in a way where they weren't able to puncture the box.

If you've ever been down at the Post Office when they are handling the packages, it's not hard to see why this could happen. They are by no means easy on handling the packages. Things get tossed around pretty heavily. They are NOT gentle with packages. Something with as much weight as a HOFSH or a AK-47 would puncture a mere cardboard box if it wasn't prepared correctly. Figure how often it gets handle just increases the chance of the object moving around in the box and impacting the sides. Whenever I package something I make darn sure it isn't moving before I ship it off. I always give my boxes a real good shake to insure as little movement as possible and all I use is simple newspaper to ship my stuff with.

Of course this may have just been a rare occurance. Considering how much stuff Jerry and company ship, they're bound to have an occasional mishap. I'm just glad you got your sword and it wasn't damaged.

I hope that's not what happened to the custom I was told would be here by xmas and still hasn't made it.

   THAT would not be cool at all! I know whats coming and its very nice!

btw bro, no pattern blade at my door yet......:(

Mine blew a hole through the bottom too, but not all the way. You could see where the butt smashed the crap out of some concrete. The coating was a bit chipped, but the concrete dust gave it away. The idea of a bunch of these flying through the boxes is scary indeed. The coating chip on mine was no big deal, but evidently some had worse problems with full extractions.

My AK arrived without a problem, and was securely packaged in an oversized box. The sword was wrapped in paper and taped, and then extra paper was stuffed in both ends of the box which apparently kept it from shifting in the box.

When I ship a fixed blade knife (either without a sheath or wrapped separately from the sheath), I wrap it fairly tightly in bubble wrap and put lots of packaging tape around the edge and especially at the tip. Then I wrap it again in paper and tape it. Finally with the wrapped knife surrounded by plenty of paper, styrofoam noodles, etc. in the box, it should not shift at all in transit.

My wife fell for that one last year Raden. I told her she had to order in January to give herself enought time for December to roll around. :D You had better have some pics of this custom or we are going to have a problem. :D

Pics shouldn't be a problem when it arrives. I kinda feel like a ass, I don't get to the forums but maybe a few times a week and hadn't noticed about Jennifer's father passing.

Someone needs to email or call ASAP.

I received mine the first week they shipped and had the same problem. The Mail lady handed it to me with a hole in the end of the box. She said she picked up the box out of her buggy and the sword slid out handle first. I called Busse that day and they apologized and said they would take care of the problem.

I'll say that it was a joy talking to the Girls at Busse Combat. I was in no way upset and told them I was just giving them a heads up. They made me feel like I was their only customer. They were very nice, and very flirty ;) . Top-knotch costomer service.

AH HA!!!!! I see, the sub par shipping was merely a ploy for the girls in the shop to get some attention from the loayal piglets and hogs! They were lonely sitting around the shop, counting off the minutes until they could go home so they came up with this idea to solicit calls to the trough. Very clever girls, now get back to work!. :D

hi chuck

i cant seem to send a PM to you please check your email for any of my messages. thanks

My AK got here with no problem. It had a groovey cardboard sheath around the blade, and the sword itself was wrapped in paper with extra paper shoved here and there in the box.
