I had a dream about a sweet knife but it would take the cooperation of two companies to make this dream come true. So I have already done all the leg work I created the first prototype (OK so I took some tape and wrote on it with a marker) and found the email and phone numbers of the man you need to talk to for the collaboration. Cause INFI would make this knife great.:):D PLEASE!!!

Until you have held a RAT you have no idea what you have been missing. Don't get me wrong I own my fair share of Busses but there is something special about the RC-3.

I have one....I have one of every size RAT. I think they are good knives with a solid steel. However my AD see's more time, what the RAT has going for it is the thinner stock and the deeper belly than the AD, GW or Meaner. However to me they are just different knives....lets see the mini muk and I think you wont be lookin at the RAT as much.

Get an ABA. A bit longer, but similar knife.

If they didn't go for so much, I'd use mine. ROTFL!

I am a fan of the RC-3 myself (in fact a big fan of RAT in general), but I prefer my BAD.... I never thought I would EDC a small fixed blade, but the BAD has changed that. Again the RC-3 is one hell of a knife especially for the money

I have one from both....and there is a diff especially in the handle and the edge grind. At least imho.

Well "feel" in hand is subjective, and obviously not everyone will have the same experience. So eliminating subjectivity (or at least trying to minimize it), what role will the RAT fill that is not already filled by an AD or Meaner?

I know RATs are good knives, but there are a lot of good knives. What I want to know is why a RAT is better than a Busse in _________ (fill in the blank).

If anyone has actual use time with a RAT, I welcome your response. I am not trying to flame RAT here, just trying to get edumacated. :D

Thanks!

It looks like your suggested "collaboration Knife" is sinply using INFI blade material on another makers design, if so, why would Jerry want his proprietary blade steel on another company's knife? There is nothing in it for Busse Combat, so I just can't see it. Now maybe a Ban blade finish and edge or a Grinducci handle job, but not simply just lending INFI blade material, sorry. :(

I guess it was a foolish half backed idea on my part that was full of holes. So I guess I am going to leave the ideas to the professionals.

Looks similar to the Swamprat Howling Rat Little Mischief. I like the belly on it.

I rounded the heel of the butt and enlarged the choil on this one:

Alright if you want to talk collaboration I got one for you. Jerry's blade geometry, grind and steel with Reese Weilands folder design. He has designed some of the best folders I have seen and since Busse has been reluctant to come out with his own folder lets get a collaboration. That way we are not tying up Busse Combat with folder assembly but we still get INFI in a folder which is what we all have been waiting for.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Instead, remember the words of the Man himself..

Folks, their will NEVER be a folder. IMO. ;) I think that with the Busse warranty, and the expectations of Jerrys fixed blades it would be to risky because some people will expect the same out of his folders as they do his fixed blades, which is impossible to do with a folder because of the moving parts and handles. I dont worry about the infi blade breaking in a folder, but more so the handles getting bent or completely breaking.
