I met Jerry through our mutual friend Dr. Dan Petersen, Bladesmith Extraordinaire, when we picked Jerry up on our way to Knoxville, TN, for Dan to present his wares and receive his ABS Master Bladesmith stamp....that was 1989. They are both my Mentor's and Jerry allowed me to use his shop to forge, heat treat and grind my very 1st blade and make my 1st knife...that was 1990.
Jerry's Damascus is and has been exceptional, as are his knives. He supplies Damascus, blades, and finished pieces out of his shop in Missouri.....I was lucky enough to get this piece from him along with his superb leatherwork. Almost 14" of multi-bar Damascus with a sharpened clip, Damascus guard with a copper spacer plus exceptional Stag and a hefty Damascus pommel peened into place to add a bit of weight aft of that fantastic blade...balance about 1 1/2" in front of the guard.
Dan always thought a bit of blade-forward weight gives the user a heads-up on where the tip is during a darkened 'encounter'.
