At a local show a couple of weeks ago, I was strolling along and came to a purveyor's table. Looking around for something that I just could not do without, I noticed a really nice looking hunter with a slim Green River shaped blade, black micarta slabs on a full tapered tang, and nickel pins and fittings. Looking over this little jewel, I was amazed at the work. I am picky, and I can find nothing a person could call a flaw. Grinds are even, guard is soldered on with super precision and everything is straight and even. No hand rubbed finish, but a very nicely done fine belt finish. Needless to say, I bought the knife, even though I had never heard of the maker.

The nicely made form fitted leather pouch has the name Langbein stamped on it, along with the date 1987. Can anyone tell me any more about this maker? I am very impressed with the work, and would like to know more about the maker and his knives.
