I got to spend some time in the shop with Jerry Moen a couple of weeks ago and play with one of these beauties!!

This is a lightweight tactical folder which Jerry has just recently released. The handle is linerless carbon fiber with anodized ti clip and hardware. I don't have the exact specs but I believe the blade was 3-3.5" and the whole package weighs less than 2.5 ounces!!
Flipping action was very smooth and overall it is a really cool knife that feels almost weightless in hand or pocket.
I think the most interesting thing about the knife and the visit was hearing about its history. The Blue Max is named after late Motorsports and International Drag Racing hall of famer Raymond Beadle. Raymond was a close friend and spent much of his time in Jerry's shop and had become somewhat of a fixture there. Jerry described him as his head of "quality control". Jerry would finish a piece and come out and show it to Raymond over a cup of coffee and get the kind of feedback we can only get from a real friend. Raymond actually saw the birth and evolution of this new design but passed away last fall before the project was finished. In memory of his late friend, Jerry named the knife the Blue Max which was the name of Raymonds drag racing team.
Jerry also makes some really gorgeous slip joints, traditionals and fixed blades and has even had his work featured on the cover of Blade Magazine. If you are looking for a super lightweight cf flipper then you should absolutely check out the Blue Max. I believe Jerry's books are closed for the moment but he was looking to be caught up within the next month or so. I would also urge any of you who are in the Dallas area to give him a call and go by to check out his shop. He is a super nice guy and his shop definitely worth checking out!

ETA: There are a couple of good youtube videos on the Blue Max if anyone wants a closer look.
