Whoops, no mistaking that one. Seems the Camillus name has fallen into bad hands. They have another one that looks a lot like a Ranger TFI.

The name Camillus was bought by a Chinese manufacturer who has started producing knives under that name.
 
Well... doesn't the saying go that "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"? No worries if you ask me. Its clearly not labeled Busse, so who cares? I doubt anyone buying a $40 knife made in China is a big loss as far as customers go to Busse.

Jerry has a design copyright or trademark for the front talon hole. He must vigously defend against infringement, or else he can lose the protection.

Yup, old news. Overseas manufacturers will continue to knock off what they please because its extremely difficult to defend things like this when they are made over there.

We have this same problem in my industry, as overseas manufacturers basically reverse engineer everything we make and then sell it on the cheap.

But since my company makes x-ray machines, I probably wouldn't trust a rip-off version, assuming I could tell the difference before a doctor used one on me.
 
There is nothing positive about their action but look at the positive side, ONLY highend items like Rolex, Louis Vuitton, Chanel...etc. have fakes. If items are not recognized as one of the top, they don't bother to copy it. Which means Busse are getting highly recognized by their style.

There are fakes LV & Chanel bags exist out there but that doesn't stop ladies nagging you buying a Auth one for them!

Busse really is not only famous by their style but also QUALITY & SERVICE. We buy Busse because of INFI blade that takes beating like no other.

Busse is not something you can just fake it.

Has to punish people for their wrong doing but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

King is the king.
 
As a collector of older Camillus knives, this makes me sad. Camillus was once a great American knife company.
