JERRY REED good ole SMOKEY Dies today.. RIP

Living in the swamps of the southern United States I became acquainted with county music and southern rock PDQ..

Early on introduced to me by my Dad in the very late 1960's one of my favorites was JERRY REED who has passed earlier today from emphazeema.

Sad day. He was one of my favorites. Most people know him from his acting roles, but don't realize he was a great country music star with a loyal following.

Heard "She Got the Gold Mine, I Got the Shaft" on the radio yesterday. It was the only Jerry Reed song I have heard in several years.

I'm not too familiar with Jerry Reed's music, but if you are referring to the movie "Smokey and the Bandit"...

Not to pick a nit, but Jerry Reed 's character was Cletus "The Snowman" Snow. A "Smokey" was something all together different...

Of couse now I keep hearing "Eastbound and Down" running through my head. :thumbup:
