Lesson learned, it sat all night, when I took it off there was 1/4 inch gap at the guard. The clamps were pinching the ricasso. I had pressed the blade out of the handle. So I added a spacer to keep the pads of the clamps just far enough apart to allow the ricasso to float. Added another washer repressed it and pinned the pommel.
