Hit it with anything less than a "photron torpedo", and you'll be just fine...Tony G said:But then when Skunk pounded his knife into the face of a cliff and hit it with some kind of high energy torpedo and it busted…. Well that just got me concerned. That was amuch bigger knife.
Tony G said:I was thinking about going LOOOONG on the FBM and FBM-LE in a similar way but the last two posts concerning failures of the blades has me a bit concerned, and I wouldn’t want to be holding the bag on $3,000 worth of knives if these things start busting.
If the tip of a skeleton key can’t stand up to being pounded into concrete and then kicked a few times… well I just don’t know. But then that is a small knife. Busse did stand behind the warranty though, and you have to give them a huge thumbs-up for that.

I was hoping to go to Yosemite National park next summer with the FBM-LE and turn Half Dome into two Quarter Domes and maybe a little change. Now I’m not sure that this is the right knife for me.![]()

I’m now considering Frost Cutlery instead.
Guyon said:Good thinking. I found you a knife BTW.
It's United Cutlery and not Frost, but just look at these lines....

I hunt and I often wind up shooting my knives by accident.
I need a knife that can withstand high velocity centerfire projectiles.
After reading your thread, I'm thinking I need some Frost steel myself.

No, not really, although it sometimes seems like it. I have been here 10 years, care of USDOJ, my employer. Why do you ask?
