Anyone ever used a jerven bag?

Those are high end poncho/tarp combos. Quite light. reflective layer. Fancy not too aggressive "mountain camo". Some come with a quite heavy thermal liner.

Price range from about $150 to $300. That is of course expensive, but if you consider that thing is supposed to be able to replace a sleeping bag, a poncho and a tent, well if it does work OK in those roles, I could be interested.

Anyone have experience with that thing, or that kind of stuff (also heard about the poncho/tent/tarp combo opinions seem to be mitigated about it)?

I have the "standard" model. Have had it for about 6 years now and it is an good piece of equipment.
I have just used it as a poncho (with a rucksack on my back), tarp and for warmth when waiting for the moose to pass (and be shot) when hunting.
I works great as a tarp and poncho, but the condense is a problem when sitting in it for a while (it is waterproof both ways:) ).
It doesn`t bother me much tough because with our weather conditions I expect to get wet anyway. It has zips for the arms and a large zipper to close the bag up.
The standard is not large enough to lie down in.
The camoflage on mine is the old mountain camo, and it is pretty good. It looks just like a big rock in the mountains.
It`s no good for those depending on beeing seen by rescuers though. Buy the orange one (not available when I bought mine).
And last, the price is too high. But it`s norwegian made, and that means outrageous prices.
