Has anyone else had a hankering to try this mode, and has anyone else tried it? I did it to my grandfather's Old Timer 30T.

I used a my Dremel tool, and I'm happy with the results considering my not to good skill level. Forgive the close up image. The result looks like a normal JH type with a splash. At first I though about cleaning it up, but now I've gotten use to it, and like the look!

I have no problem opening it with the right hand. I suspect the C27 may of had it on both sides. I wouldn't even think about doing it on both sides, and the 30T is a bit too thin bladed anyway.

A good way to do this is get the dremel wheels that are think. Get a diamond stone from harbout frieght that is cheap a set of 3 is about 8 dollars. Hold your wheel at a 45 degree angle and bevel the wheel on the diamond stone. That way when you cut your nail pull you already have the bevel and it makes a great cut and look. Just my thoughts been doing it for years and everyone that sees it likes it.

The C27 does have the depression on both sides. I don't have a 3OT to compare to anymore, but the blade on the Spyderco/Jess Horn isn't all that thick.

Thanks for the great images of one of the all time great knives yablanowitz! I know it is pretty close but I suspect the 30T is just a touch thiner, and regardless beyond my skill level! Thanks for the tip percy! I may try this again on another unsuspecting knife.
