Here are some pictures I took recently while making a custom fillet knife.
Blade is 440C, guard is nickel silver, pommel is 416 stainless steel, handle is stacked birch bark, sheath is harness leather.
Enjoy!

Inside the workshop
Straightening blade using vise jig
Getting the blade flat using a surface grinder
Blade grinding setup
Hand sanding the blade
Blade before buffing
Guard pinned and soldered
Guard cleaned up after soldering
Pieces of birch bark for the handle
Birch bark pieces stacked and epoxied (Clamp idea from Stacy Apelt)
Fillet knife parts almost ready for assembly
Modified Sawzall blade for cutting slot in handle for knife tang to fit into
Test fitting the handle block to the knife
Squaring up the stainless steel block for the pommel using the mill
Slot cut in pommel block for the knife tang to fit into
Knife parts assembled and epoxied
Initial rough shaping of handle
Handle shape getting a little more refined
Polishing up the front of the guard
Knife prior to Tru-oiling
Coating the handle with many coats of Tru-oil, smoothing out with steel wool between coats
Working on the sheath (Knife covered in tape to prevent damage)
Finished knife and sheath (Pics by my wife)
