NICE. !!!!!!......

Ethan

Thanks E!

I've started a whole new cult of the BK7 with my channel. Most of them aren't on here, but I polled the viewers on the FB page and there were about 20 new Becker owners and not one of them were unhappy with the recommendation. I've probably got 15 videos pushing the BK7 as the BEST outdoor knife available for the money. People can tell I actually believe it and buy it. A few BK9s in there too. People love the 7!

You can always tell who they are because they refer to it as "Jessica"

That thing looks great, CT.
You know, the 7 didn't really appeal to me when the Frankenbecker passed my way, but your pix are giving me second thoughts.

No Shit?.....Jessica?????

Thank You...... As a designer ya just never know what is going to appeal or why?........Almost All the stuff I have been successful with is either something I felt I needed or wanted or somebody I REALLY respected wanted it......The seven is an odd duck conceptually for me... Will Fennel was new products guy at Camillus )where rumor has it that the KaBar was whelped) and He and Anthony Lombardo thought I should update The Marine Combat Knife or as it is generically known THE KA-BAR)......So essentially it is what I would want in a KaBar if I had my druthers......and now it is made at KaBar......Hmmmm....... My design was heavily informed by a beer fueled discussion at a SHOT or BLADE Show with The late Chuck Karwan (a man I truly miss), Steve Dick, and one or two others lost now in the fog of time and brew fog.......Steve is the consummate consumer thanks to his Ranger/ Charley Ranger background he has the infantry/combat/bush whacking creds few have.......Chuck was Special Forces combat vet and like Steve a certifiable knife nut and designer....... The iconic knife in my little circle as a teenager was the KaBar(other kids played cowboys and Indians we played Marines in the Pacific as my two closest friends had 5 Uncles who served with the Marines in WWII) so I had a reasonable knowledge of it........ So when my adult friends talked the Icon over, I listened......If I had used a full clip point it would be real obvious......Just a little background......

Loved the Post.......Jessica?????

Chuck Karwan died? That sucks. I used to read his articles all the time.

Thanks for the background info, Ethan. I knew that the BK-7 was your idea of an improved classic Ka-bar, and it's fun to hear about how it came to be.

"Jessica" is a loooong story but she's a real person. Extremely beautiful (IMO), ridiculously enigmatic and a puzzle I never solved, unfortunately. It seemed the perfect name for my favorite knife.

....regular viewers of my channel are VERY familiar with the fact that all my favorite knives have female names. BK9 is "Becky". Started as a play on "Becker", but then I met a super-hot Becky...who had a VERY strange commonality with Jessica. There will be a B2 in the near future...

REALLY! Where else can we hang out with THE designer and get history lessons like this!
Thanks for the lesson Ethan!

Yes we are very familiar. I plan in buying one.

Hi Chris.I received my BK7 last week.Reason i bought it was your youtube vids.Have not put it to the test buts it`s everything you said it was and more.Jessica-2 looks great. I am buckeyebunnyhunter on youtube and have commented on your vids. Very good and informative video`s.Now trying to decide what BK knife to go with it.Thanks Dave

Jessica looks beautiful and stylish with her makeover. The 7 is a terrific knife on its own, but when customized becomes a very personal addition to your knife collection. I converted two of my 7's. One to a drop point with convex edge and the other to a full convex fighter. If you can imagine it you can make it.

Glad you made it. Been trying to get all the new Becker owners in here.

Oh, and you need a BK24. I was skeptical about the D2, but I love it. Just named that one "Victoria"
