Hi,

Im new here and was trying to decide between a ladybug or a jester. I was going to get a Starling but they are proving to be very hard to find. I can get the ladybug at a local shop. I would like to know what you guys think.

Thanks. :)

I use a green serrated ladybug attached to my keychain. I never plan on using it it just happens. I don't know anything about the jester model.

I use a green serrated ladybug attached to my keychain. I never plan on using it it just happens. It seems to cut much better than you would think by looking at it's size. I think the serrated edge doubles it's effective cutting edge. It may only be a couple of inches but it cuts like a 4" PE knife.

I don't know anything about the Jester model so can't compare them.

The main difference is the blade shape; the Jester has grooves both behind the hump and near the tip, which allows you to anchor your finger for fine cutting. I personally prefer the Jester because of this.

OTOH, both knives are inexpensive and yet awesome at the same time. Why not get both? :D

$70? You could get a knife four times that size for $20 less on the internet..

Get a Jester in my opinion because of the flatter portion just above the tip of the knife in plain edge just because it is easier to open packages with. Try looking into the Byrd Finch if you want something slightly cheaper. But because the Jester is not much expensive, I would go with that.

Yeah im probably going to get a serrated jester. The problem with buying online is like $60 in shipping

I'm no expert on international shipping, but theres gotta be a way for you to get a nice inexpensive Ladybug with reasonable shipping. Someone will chime in here with an idea.

best regards

I picked up a Ladybug a while back. I was so impressed I bought an Endura FRN :).

I think of the Jester as an upgraded ladybug. The ergonomics are better (for me at least) and the blade shape is also better (in my opinion). In fact, I like the jester so much that I don't think it could be improved upon in terms of design! I am wrong about that of course. :D

Agreed. It's deceptive that such a small knife can be so useable. Helps to ensure a stable grip if you add a small fob if you have big hands...
I can take a picture of mine if you want.

The free shipping is only to U.S places, i live in New Zealand and "The Minimum order to be shipped to an international location is $100.00 (Not including Shipping Cost) due to the time involved in processing the orders."
Ya know, the Starling is a tiny lil' thing; surely someone could send you one First Class, right?

Tell ya what, PM or email me your shipping address, and I'll look into it, and let you know how much FC shipping would be. Then, if you like, I'll order one for you and ship it out; you pay me actual cost and actual shipping. Deal?

Why don't you try ebay? I just shipped an mod for 10$ to belgium.there are a lot of spydercos and If you play your cards right you can even arrange a little tax break;)
