In another thread, I had said that the Stainless Jester was shipping. Sorry, I lied. (You'd think I'd know all this stuff).

They have just come in and will begin shipping in the next two weeks.

This model was created for those that just like SS handles and for the aftermarket crafstmen. Guys like Santa Fe Stoneworks, Yellowhorse and and the engravers will really make this little knife a jewel.

Available in Plain or Serrated edges. Maybe we can get Carlos to post some pics when he gets his.

Now that's a good one! After I destroyed my pink Jester in order to make an SS handles for it... oh well, I guess at least yours hasn't silver bolsters and stag inserts :p
 
SS Jester...how did I miss that one!!! It'll have to wait though..I still want my DoDo.

SS Jester - The Jester is evolutionary King in the kingdom-world of small knives.

In reality, small knives are more often than not hard to grip comfortably and difficult to use with any precision. Rather than simply shrinking down a full-sized folder to key-chain proportions, Spyderco's research team designed the Jester from the bottom up to be diminutive yet ergonomically unprecedented. The all stainless Jester has a steel handle fitted with an arrangement of jutting angled points, filling the hand and aiding grip. Hollow-ground and made of AUS-6 stainless steel, the blade spine is textured with a series of furrows above the opening hole and again near the tip providing decisive control for intricate/detailed cutting. The tip itself is thick at the point and snub-nosed in design for strength at the end of the blade where it's most useful. The Jester SS is well suited for aftermarket Embellishment and engraving.

Wow! And just when I thought that the SS Cricket would become my secondary EDC, I see this... :D

Vess> I'm thinking it's a canditate for my small G-10 here... blue/black 1/8" thick... one color each side. Slap the blue down, and carve in the black to bring the blue accents out. Will make it nice and thick to hold(being a small 2" blade, not much handle)...

40usd, have to see if local can get me one for about 50-55cdn or I get er online.
 
Getting them locally would be nice, or at least finding an online US store that has them. Ah, well... I have an SS Cricket coming, so I'll have my hands full... :)

VW, yes, a blue-black G-10 on a Jester would look great. I'll still have to hold one in my hands to see how big/small it is and then decide what exactly to do to it... :)
 
handled the FRN version instore... going to assume like most spydies that the SS version will be thinner.

I'll get pics of the g-10 if you want to see what I'm talking about. blue on one side, flip it over to the other flat and it's black. Even doing something like a very loose cross hatch to have blue show through would look nice as well as add a lot of grip.

so I'd have a black handle with blue showing for a pattern, or a blue handle with black accents. either way it'll be sweet. highly polished too.
 
For a keychain-sized knife, the Jester is great. I'll probably stick with my burgundy Micarta version for now. Might have to get a SS model later in the year though.
 
Carlos ... how thick is that puppy? You wouldn't be able to take a comparison shot with a ss cricket?

You are correct, the SS Jester is just what the engravers needed. Since the C09 Co-Pilot was discontinued the engravers have been unhappy, the new Jester may restore their happiness.
