Will jewelers rouge take out small Mars on the mirror finish which occur from putting knife in and out of scabbard or would it dull it?

I use rouge on my khuks on occasion. I think it polishes nicely with good wheels being used.

Works great with clean cotton buffing wheel! It can completely restore the finish. Keep it clean tho and dont cross contaminate it with other grits etc.

Stupid related question unworthy of it's own thread: I got some Brasso and thought to use it with the polishing wheel on my dremmel tool. Would that get too hot? Hot enough to mess up my blades? Was gonna try it for the fittings and to polish up my users.

If you are going to use it on the bolster and butt cap, you should be good to go provided you do not hold it in one place. As long as the wheel is moving across the part and not stationary for more than a few seconds, heat should not effect the desirable characteristics of the steel's tempering or the natural laha adhesive.

This is the best forum I've been on no matter the subject. Very informative, you guys are great!
