I came across a very well worn 10k yellow gold ring with 3 tiny diamonds while rummaging about yesturday. The band is roughed up and has a small crack. The crack does not run all the way through. Any idea of its value given the damage? would the cost of repairing it exceed what i would recieve if i try selling it?

I'm not jewelry buff nor jeweler, but I would think that most items of real $$$$ value would be at minimum 14k gold. It looks like a beautiful little ring and could be something of great sentimental value to someone. A lot of smaller department stores and places that sell more inexpensive jewelry sell rings of 10k gold.

If you know someone who does jewelry repair, they could touch up those cracks pretty easily I would think. They could probably even run the band across a buffer wheel to smooth it out.

Someone who has sensitivity to metals probably won't be able to wear it, as typically they require at least 14k gold. But if they don't have the sensitivity, it would be a sweet ring to wear.

Don't know more than that. Sorry.

Almost any jeweler can solder those cracks shut for very little money. It looks like it would be a great ring for a young teen aged girl.
