For a while, after buying my first Commander, I had, like many others, problems sharpening it. It took quite a while but I slowly but surely got the hang of it.
A while ago, I read about the Jewelstik 1-2-3 sharpening rod. This rod literally has 3 rounded sides, each with a different grade of diamond shapening courseness. I bought one and cannot believe how easy my Commander is to sharpen. Really makes a giant difference.
I also found the final touch is to use a rouge on a leather strap. Keep a low angle and you can get it hair popping.
