I'd like to see pics of some jigged bone knives without bolsters. I'm thinking slimline trapper, or sodbuster, or shadow type patterns. Got any pics of a knife like that? Fishing for ideas for the next one.

What about a KHnutbuster?

Christian, can you tell me more about this knife? I love it.

Kevin

That is Kerry Hampton's signature pattern, the KHnutbuster. Kerry was trained by Tony Bose himself and his excellent work reflects that. I got this knife a couple of years ago and it was my first custom. A month after I got it I dropped it on asphalt, taking a good sized chip out of one of the scales. I was stunned at first, but it really was a blessing in disguise. Because the KHnutbuster was now "damaged" I didn't feel bad actually using it and it quickly became my primary carry. Using it confirmed that customs really are a step up in quality. Fit and finish is first rate, swedging is nice and even, blade actually came sharp, and I was able to choose the scale material and blade steel that I wanted.

The KHnutbuster is a good deal more used now. There are more scratches, and it's more patinaed. I don't care, I think it looks better than when new.

Christian, I think it looks incredible. Thanks for the info on the knife :) A2 sounds great.

I really like the No bolster look, any production makers have one in their lineup?
Schatt and Morgan did a SFO run for a small knife shop in Alabama of sodbusters hafted in really nice sambar stag without any bolsters. You may be able to find them on the 'bay occasionally and last I checked they weren't too expensive. Here's one I had but traded away awhile back.

It is indeed and it's lookin good  That EO Coats is just an absolutely fantastic looking slipjoint as well and I'm sure the F&F equals it's appearance :)

Very nice! I was thinking there must be a reason for all the keystone shields on your patterns. Of course it dawned on me it is a Pennsylvania thing which is where you are from!

Note bone, but a little shadow stag action....WHAT A KNIFE...and a shadow in stag nonetheless.........Let teh salivating begin
