Jigged stag

hey i have a lot of stag antler, and when the time comes to put the handle on my knife in the making, i was wondering, instead of using bone, can i jig stag antler (ill be using deer) and if so, how, and what do i use to die it?

i can get some deer bones, just tell me what bones are the best, and i will be getting fresh ones, ( hunting season starts on the 18th) and if they need to be treated etc

pics are of whitetail antler, hand jigged by me using a die grinder with an 1/8" end mill bit, dyeing to preference with potassium permanganate...

as far as jigging Ive used a dremel (with carving bits) with good results.
