After looking at Wolf Creek Forge's post I didn't quite understand what a spring swedge was. So off to googling I went. After I sorted that out, I kept going and found this video. He dosen't use a spring swedge, but I thought it very interesting. Sorry if this has been posted before.

He does awsome work..Phillip showed me this video..when you see him using a handheld tool to spread the ears up and down or to widen the blade that is what the spring swage in our hammer does..Same thing, just moves metal in ONE direction instead of both directions..
I couldent do much more than small work until we got this hammer..
