I am curious as to why the Jim Burke production knives rockstar and flippin ballistic aren't that popular? I'm stumped! Thick titanium framelock knives. Good steel. SOLID lockup. Great edc size. Great fit and finish. And very reasonable prices. What's the catch lol?? I just got a production rockstar that is perfect in every way. Early lockup, centered, super super solid lockup absolutely no play, good grind, razor sharp etc. I mean ive seen a few threads on them just not much. Id figure these knives would be a HUGE hit. Maybe I'm crazy but I'm gonna go ahead and say my production rockstar purchase is the most satisfying knife purchase I've ever made.

Probably because they're around the same price as a sebenza. That was the case for me when choosing and since everyone always shyts a brick over the sebe I decided to give it a try first(I actually bought the umnumzaan first), and honestly I kind of forgot about the jim burkes knives till now....I dont know maybe thats happened to others as well just my opinion

Looks like your not nuts about it either as it's up for trade already ! Iv been real close to pulling the trigger on one a few times but never did . What are your likes and dislikes about this knife that made you decide to put it on the exchange ? This would help me make up my mind about one. Thanks !

I had a Pro Rockstar for a few monthes. While the fit and finish was excellent, I hated the pocket clip and the blade was too short for me considering its width. If he had a 4 in. blade version I'd buy it in a second.

I have two now. Well another on the way. An all silver version. I have the black handle now. Jus figured I'd see what I can get for it since I'll have two. If I don't trade it i have no problem keeping it forever. I have no dislikes about the knife. Honestly I can't find anything I don't like about it. Jus don't need two. I'm not a collector. I'm a user. If your on the fence about one just get one. Trust me you won't be unhappy.

And for the record people don't always get rid of knives bc there's a problem or a dislike with the knife. I do it bc I don't have funds to try all the knives I'd like to. If this one stays that's perfectly fine with me. Lol.

I've had 3 of his Rockstars. They are well made knives with early lock-up & very good materials (Decent thickness Ti, CPM154 blade steel, etc).

However:

1. It's a little wide while closed for a folder its size that's made worse by being tip-down only, & a rather large clip.
2. I think it would do better if the clip was trimmed down some & could be tip-up & down.
3. The blade's relatively short for the handle length (3 1/8" in a 4.5" handle).
4. They were originally well over $300, causing them to be compared/competing with CRK & Striders.

They now seem to be selling in the mid $200 range, making them a better deal than they were. However, despite their lower price, I still think their clip's an issue & it wouldn't hurt if it could be tip-up & down.

I like the 3 1/8 blade for me it's about perfect. Jus my preference. I also like to carry tip down and the clip is great for me as well because it's doesn't interfere while using the knife. I don't have the problem some have with the clip not keepin the knife secure either. But you make some good points. For the money it's the best fit/finish,materials,solid knife I'VE ever bought. Fit and finish far surpasses strider THAT'S MY OPINION, not a fact (sorry strider guys I love striders too).
