hi gang,
I haven't been on in awhile, hope everyone is good.
I bought a new knife yesterday, bit of a guess, bit of I think this is a good deal.
I bought a knife made by Jim Downie, back about 2007. I see he is a Canadian knifemaker and was VP of the knifemakers guild back then.
But I can not find any new 2012 information on him. No website or knives.
I also have not been able to determine what kind of steel he's using in my knife. I saw some filet knives he made that were ats-34.
I think he did stock removal, and made knives for about 30 yrs.
Does anyone know anything about this maker ? Steel used etc ?
I figure the knife to be worth about $225. and I bought it for $ 125.
I don't seem to be able to post a pic ?
