Well, I am reluctant to do this. I have found a nice looking knife on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=297005637 It certainly sounds like my kind of knife with
"MIKE MORRIS LADDER PATTERN STAINLESS STEEL BLADE, MEASURES 2.25". EGGERLING MOSAIC BOLSTERS, 14 KARATE GOLD SCREWS, MAMMOTH IVORY SCALES, TITANIUM BACK STRAP AND LINERS. THE BLADE BACK STRAPS AND LINERS HAVE AWESOME FILEWORK."
But I don't know anything about the maker.

Oh, and if he is as good as the knife picture make him look.... don't bid against me!

Wow, nice looking knife. I hope no one bids against you. I did this some time ago and it ended up costing me about $20. No too bad to TEACH ME A LESSON (hint, hint). This knife will sell for a lot below what it would cost from the marker, just watch. I saw a D'Beaver go for under $200 and a D'Alton for a little over $200 some time ago. I called Beaver and he laighed as he told me it would have cost about $400 to buy it new from him.

Pick up Knives 1999 or 2000 to find this maker. He should be in there, unless this knife was made a long time ago. Good luck. I hope the member have enough honesty not to screw you on this.

I don't mind sharing a find with other forumites. This does look like a nice knife. If it was Ralph Turnbull (who I really collect) as the maker you would be seeing a price closer to 1000$ than to 500. but then again, the quality of the work can't always be seen in a few images.

From the picture, it looks like the liner just barely engages the blade's tang; is that a problem?

FWIW, I have seen another knife by this maker for sale. It was far less elaborate and was priced at just over $200. The owner stated (in his ad) that he met Mr. Downs at the Badger Knife show in Wisconsin last year.
