Here's an order I just finished for a customer, a medium sized Bowie with a stabilized Buckeye handle with bone insert and NS fittings, thanks for taking a look.

WOW Jim, Beautiful bowie. That buckeye sure looks like desert ironwood burl. But whatever it is, it sure is beautiful.

Thanks for the compliments Guys. Tom it does look like Iron wood But trust me it doesn't work anything like it, it was much nicer to work.

Have a great week all.

Jim

Thanks for the compliments TFIELDS and Strigamort, The steel is 5160 and I do my own heat treat I use a Gas Forge that has a PID thermal controler that I use to moniter the heat in the forge during normalizing and hardening, I do forge my blades. If you have any more guestions please feel free to let me know.

Have a great day guys.

Jim

That's a great looking Bowie, Jim!

Thanks Guys I appreciate the complements. Strigamort Good Luck and have fun, I have a couple VERY large roller bearing that a buddy gave me a while back as I understand it most of them are 52100 and a good sign is if it rust, I also look forward to trying it.

Here is a Big Bowie that I recently finished, This knife was ordered many years ago with the understanding that he wanted the first big Bowie that I make after earning my Journeyman rating. The blade is forged from 5160 and has NS fittings over an African Black wood handle.

Beautiful knives Jim. It's nice to see work from a fellow Minnesotan. I spent a few years in your neck of the woods going to school in Crookston. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Fellows I appreciate the comments and of course the compliments. larson1122 I assume you are no longer in the area are you still in the state?
