Bought a Don Weiler and 2 of Jim Sasser's knives on ebay. Dont know much about these makers, just that their knives look well made. Would appreciate any information on these 2 makers, thanks.

Sorry no digital camera and I have not gotten the knives yet. Will probably have them sent out for custom sheaths. They are all Loveless style hunting knives with what the dealer says are 3-4" stainless blades, nickel silver hilts and micarta handles. The Weiler has a cocobolo handle, I believe.
Went out today and bought Knives 2006 but could not find Jim Sassers name/address. Found Don Weiler though, description about him is that hes been making knives since 1952 in Yuma, Arizona. Ill probably call him after the holidays.
Again, would appreciate any information on these 2 makers if anybody has heard of them or bought one of their knives..

If I remember correctly Jim Sasser was active while living in Oklahoma. Colorado, and New Mexico. I think he was killed in a car wreck this last spring. He was noted for his elk cleaver that had a gut hook and I know there is one of his folders on ebay right now. Mike Found where he passed away January 1, 2006 at the age of 70.

Sorry to hear about Jim Sasser. My dad gave me one of his folders in the mid 1970's and it is a very nice piece of work, I still use it. I don't believe Sasser ever got a lot of recognition, sadly.
