I heard a couple of min. ago (from Howard)that Jim passed away last Thursday. He will be missed by his customers and by more makers than I can count that he has helped along the way.

He taught many how to make knives including myself. Our world has lost a great man.
 
Thanks Gus, I met Jim at Ashokan, he was very giving of his knowledge and will be missed.

Jim was a great knikemaker and teacher.I remember going to ashokan just to learn new filework techniques.He was very giving of his time and knowledge.I'm really going to miss seeing him at the shows too!

The world has lost a truly good person and friend. I had the privledge to get help and friendship from Jim and will miss him much.
