Just wanted to give a big shoutout to Jim Smyth, knifemaker extraordinaire.
I've had the good fortune to acquire three of Jim's knives, and they are all quite unique.
The most recent acquisition is his 'Shark' model, though an older model. Jim was nice enough to take it back and upgrade it to more his current way of doing things. The result is stunning!
Along with a magnificent timascus pocket clip, Jim installed a new high-tolerance pivot system, improved the detent hole and the accompanying ball, polished/reblasted/recolored/engine-turned every part of the knife....AND cut pockets and retro-fitted IKBS into the knife!!!! Whaaaaat!!!! Yep.
I'm just gonna drop these pictures here with another big THANK YOU! to Mr. Smyth...just way above and beyond what was necessary.
And the rest of the story......
I had it back in hand in just about a week
