Dear All
At the risk of being kicked off the forum after only a couple of posts, I just know there must be a wealth of knowledge about the Lile knives featured in the "First Blood" and "Rambo" films. Many of you guys probably are rolling your eyes, but Ive seen so many "genuine" ones around, but figure it to be a big minefield buying one! All info would be most welcome, about availability, how many were made, the pre-dot/dot thing etc etc. To be honest, regardless of the film connection, it seems Mr Lile made a jolly good knife anyway!
Regards
Benn

Benn, there should be some folks here that can give you the details on the Rambo knives. i think i remember reading something about it in Blade mag, during this past yr., how there were about a dozen numbered originals, marked in a particular way; the others were made afterwards in more quantities. i can't remember much in detail about it. good luck.

Hey thanks! Its bad enough buying in your own neighbourhood, let alone searching the world!
Regards
Benn

The Blade magazine was March, 2007.

I don't mean to hi-jack someone else's thread or anything, but I am also interested in a First Blood Lile type knife. I have pretty much given up on finding an actual knife as those seem to be well beyond my budget.

I have done a few searches on these forums and am interested in seeing if anyone would be interested in making a tribute type knife with the same features as the First Blood Lile knife. I am not trying to diminish the value of any Lile blade. I was just too young to have any ability to get an actual Lile knife.

Is anyone aware of someone who would be interested in such a project? I am just looking for a better copy than an United Cutlery knife.

Charlie Tuna;
You might want to try www.martinknives.com . When you get therelook under survival knives. The blade to handle fixture that he does makes it strong as hell. Good luck. Happy Thankgiving.

hello all
the martin knives are a great buy
bill sanders timberline is the next best thing is you can find one. there is a FB II mission lile knife on ebay now for 1500 if I had the money it would be the best investment I could make this year. R J martin has the ravin a fantastic knife but pricey Farid knives are massive ramboeasque but again pricey
if your looking for a functional affordable I would go with the buck 184 the one I would go for if I can find one is the old Al Mar SF-10 red wrapped handle
its appears on ebay now and then for 600 0r less.
well all I have said is of course IMHO
