Did a little "fancy" filework jimping to dress up my sexy seven today. I just didn't like the single groove left after de-ramping her.

That aint helping me. I have been torn between taking the ramp off or not. It's not a question on the 9....but the 7's ramp dont bother me as bad. I flip-flop between liking it and disliking it.

That's pretty snazzy with the filing....nice work. (like you do any other kind LOL)

what's the pistola?

choil? really? sigh

Thats a mighty fine looking 7 you got there Trade.
Nice work!
Thanks for the glamour shots!

Damn that looks cool.
Did you polish that micarta? Don't really see that too often.
What causes there to be a single groove after de-ramping it? I have seen people mention it before, and always wondered.

The groove closest to the handle is behind the ramp and so filing it flat leaves the proximal groove.

There is one groove at the base of ramp that is below the spine line. It's left when you grind the ramp flush. Same with the nine.
I just put some Tru-Oil on the micarta right after I got it to keep it clean. It's held up up pretty good.

This makes me want a 7 just so I can do it...might have to practice on the "other" 9. Great work and thanks for sharing!

Very nice, I've been thinking about trying a vine pattern on my 9 but I like the look of your jimping too. What files did you use?

Looks purty. Nice file work, micarta is pretty too. I need to get a 7 someday, just can't quite figure what I would need if for that I can't do with my 2or 9. Kind of a narrow gap to fill there.

I just had a couple of chainsaw files in the drawer. Not sure what size they were.

The BK7 is one of the best choices for a "one knife" scenario. Lighter than a 2, nimble but will chop a good bit. Very versatile.

That looks awesome. I need to get a 7... I think it will be my gift to myself once my BH number is approved. :)

Love the filework man! I've been dying to give it a try, but have yet to work up the courage to try it.
