This one came yesterday. Like all JK knives, it is over built. I got the orange G-10 scales and his new Scandi grind. This Scandi grind is a hefty well done grind that really should hold up well. The tip is like a Tank and should really stand up to drilling and notching. The fit of the scales to tang is the best that I have ever seen, no way can you feel any hint of a edge there. UIt has the forged finish , two hollow pins, one solid pin and a lanyard hole.

Since we are having a blizzard right now, I couldn't test it outdoors. I like the Dangler sheath although it dangles a bit to far for this short legged old guy. I would like to see a detachable ring on the dangler but I can always add that. For use without the dangler, the belt loop could be a bit larger/longer.

As someone who owns 2 of his original bushcrafters, I'd say this will be a great knife.

I heard a rumor that this is not a so called Bushcraft knife, I suppose I will be thrown out of the bush, sliding across the ground up rooting trees , grass and rocks.

I'm really liking the look of John's scandi grind. How do you think it compares to his "normal" grind?

It ain't no Mora! Heavy duty grind probably could be thinned down a little but there is plenty of steel there.

Not knocking Mora's this is just a lot heavier all around. I don't know what the angle is.
