Hi folks -

I was finally able to take some quick pictures of my beautiful new JK Gamblers Bowie and the custom sheath that Noah from Wasteland Leatherwork crafted for the knife.

My initial impression of the knife was "Now THAT'S a KNIFE!" .

It is an incredible hunk of 01 tool steel, with a wonderfully contoured handle with my favorite maple burl scales.

I had Stomper ship the knife to Wasteland Leatherwork (Noah) and asked Noah to craft one of his Apocalyptic style sheaths for the Bowie.

On to the pictures!

The Bowie in the sheath - the sheath has a deep, wonderful color to it.

Just look at the detailing on the sheath -

I really love the Bowie and I can't wait to get it out and chop something up with it.

It is pretty big, but I may put it to use in the kitchen using it in place of a cleaver.

Thanks for another great knife, Stomper, and Noah - I am impressed! Thanks to both of you!

best regards -

Glad you're happy with it! I had the same reaction when I received the knife from John, by the way, Australian accent and all :P

Such a nice burl family you have there. And the sheath is just awesome. I really like the aged and distressed look of it.

Amazing work you guys. John the bowie kills me. I love it. Noah... DAMN... nice work buddy.

Wow! Both the knife and the sheath are beautiful jobs. What a great combination of craftsmanship! I want one!

That bowie is outstanding! Great work, John!

The sheath isn't too shabby, either. Cool retention method, no straps.
Very nice detailing.

The bowie is really cool in person, too.

Thanks! I hate straps, so I do without them whenever possible :P

Beautiful combo of knife and sheath! Love the similar pattern of the leather and handle slabs, very classy.

Noah,
Can this sheath be made with the loop further down on the sheath, as to make it ride higher on the belt?
Also, can it be made so as to take a 3" wide belt?

Of course, those modifications wouldn't be a problem at all.
