Today I used the JK Knatchet to remove a small stump in my front yard. Not the most Bushcrafty use but it proved to me that John knows what he is doing when he crafts his steel. It took about me 45 minutes. When I was through my hand felt fine, ere were no hot spots on the perfectly shaped handle. The edge only neede a slight touch up after and it is ready to do it again.

This is what the stup looked like before I started. Have to use an old picture, I did not think ahead and take a before picture.

Sooty for the less than professional review, but I just though I should share how well the Knatchet worked and if it works this well on a stump you know it won't let you down in the woods.

Well done John thanks for all your hard work.

Hi Ossa,

That stump looked like it was one mean old SOB! So, the JK looks good, how's your arm?

Actually not bad, my hand was what I was worried about and it came out fine no blisters at all, thanks to the great job on the handle the Mircata scales worked great, nice and grippy. ( is that a word?). :-)

The stump was a 10 year old redwood tree prior to it being cut down. Got it at the fair as a twig. Got to big and I was affraid it would fall on the house.

When I first saw the Knatchet I was skeptical. After seeing it in use for a while now, I really am beginning to like it.
Thanks for sharing.

Datblameit,I'm going to have to get one someday.
The poor stump didn't stand a chance......
Great pics.

Thanks. Ya I felt sorry for the stump after I started, the Knatchet did the job extreamly well. If you get one you will not be sorry. Makes a great kitchen chopper too, takes spare ribs apart no problem.
