JK Knives Muk and Canidian Belt Knife....

Thanks, I was leaning the other way, due to a lack of handle offset in the CBK. I have a BRKT Canadian Special which has no offset either.

While similar in appearance their performance characteristics are different so think of your mission first - what performance outcomes are you needing then select the best tool for the job.

Now if you just want another knife "because" them just pick one that tickles your inner child and don't look back. Besides you'll probably order the other anyway next year.

They're both beautiful and look so usable! Now, I may be wrong, but I believe the Muk was originally a food prep blade. The belt knife would've been designed for general use I guess? I'm sure those original uses probably don't mean anything anymore, as variations could totally change the dynamics. As much as I like both, I've been drawn to a Muk for some odd reason. I've never owned one, and probably won't, but they call to me:) Let us know which you prefer to use:thumbup:

I don't have the JK Muk but I can attest that the JK Canadian Belt knife is an excellent all-around knife. It is well balanced, feels light in the hand and has no hot spots on the handle. Here is mine next to a Bark River Canadian Special.

Great pic. I've only had a chance to use the CBK around the house and in the kitchen and it rocks so far.
Thanks for sharing.

If that CBK has ebony handles (can't tell for sure) it is the first one I ever made.

It looks like ebony to me and it is out standing. Awesome that you got it so right the first time!
