I came home today once again to a nice package in the mail from John. A short time ago I ordered a Scout Jr. from John but I wanted it modified a tiny bit to fit my hands a little better. Let me say right off the bat that I ordered this knife with the intention of it being a hard use knife. I mean H.A.R.D..
I will (with John's blessing) continue to update this thread on a regular basis with the adventures and tests that this knife goes through. Most of my free/relaxation time is spent in the woods (unless I have a marathon scheduled, but that's another story ;) ).

First off, besides the workmanship, I noticed on this knife is it is stout. Thick and solid is the feel in my hand with this one. Great workmanship is always a given with John's stuff. I've come to expect that now.

When I say it's solid I mean that in a damn good way. This feels like a knife you could use as the Jaws of Life in a car wreck, but not overly heavy. Like the porridge....just right!

I ordered a kydex sheath from John with this one. I mostly have leather but I wanted a kydex for this baby. John's kydex work is nice too. Clean and neat.

I wanted the blade length down to 4" and John was able to accomodate me nicely. I ordered this knife with the black micarta and I love the feel of this knife in my hands. You guys know when you pick up a knife or even a certain pistol and it "just feels right"? That's what I get with this one.

John even threw my Department rank on the other side of the blade for me.

Have to excuse me for a second but I had to take a picture of her with my 1912 USGI production Colt 1911. She's an old warhorse and I have to take her out about once a year to run a few magazines through her.

Overall in case you can't tell I'm extremely pleased. If you're a regular here on Stomper's forum you'll be seeing this thread pop up occasionally as I add to it.

Thanks for reading and, once again, thank you to my friend John for making me exactly what I was looking for.

Well done Sir!

I completely understand the statment about/'' It just feels right in your hand ". Most of us here can relate and I can see how it could happen with a custom JK knife . That is a nice blade, the Scout and Scout jr are under rated knives . John makers great knives and nothing feels as good as one that is custom made for you by someone like John .

Great looking modified Scout Jr!! You can certainly tell, I know I have these past weeks the care and pride John puts into every build he does! Another great piece!! Look forward to the pics and updates!

I hjave to agree 100%. The scout handle is very comfortable. My clip scout was the first large knife I scored from Stomper, and it pretty much raised the bar for what I have come to expect from a heavy-duty blade.
