I took my orange handled JKs & a Nessmuk I made for some fresh mountain air today & thought I'd share some pics.
I like orange on the smaller knives, that way in case I drop one or mislay it,it'll be easier to find.(Of course all us pumpkin fans know that right?)
I was up at my camp site & down on Iron Creek for a few hours with the JK Packer,Keebler Nessie & the Tin Knife I made a Kydex handle for.
It sure is good to get out even if just for a few hours.
Just some glamour shots of the knives & a couple of Iron Creek.
It was cold & blustery & trying to rain, but still nice to be out.
OH yeah,I found some giant Morels too.
OK,not giant Morels,just a mini Muk I made for S&Gs.
The little bugger works too!
That's a Vic Rambler for size comparison.
And here's a small section of Iron Creek, there is a nice camp site right behind me....
It's neat to see how the creek has changed every year after the snowmelt swells it & it eats out the banks & changes course.
This is the most drastic change I've seen in better than 10 years of going up there.
Right where the mini waterfall & the big rock are in the first pic used to be a nice pool with some small trout in it I could always look forward to seeing.
But this year the creek was really full & cut the bank quite a bit & a lot of the rocks & debris filled the pool in.
Oh well it still looks nice & it's good to sit & listen to the babbling waters.
(I also get the best tasting coffee using Iron Creek water)
This is the hillside on the other side of the creek...steep!
One year during hunting season, right in the center open area at the top,I saw 2 nice legal bucks standing there watching me.
The only problem is it was the weekend after the close of deer season & the opener of elk season.
And of course during deer season one year I ran into a herd of elk with some shooters in it & never saw an elk during elk season.Go figure.
I hope you enjoyed the pics & sorry for rambling on.
