well please forgive my lagging on the scandi review and pics... we have been super busy lately and to top it all off, i am having problems with my Photobucket account...

i have had the JK scandi for about a week now, though i haven't been able to get out to the woods lately, i have had a great time with it none the less..
the design of this knife really appeals to me.. i was instanly attracted to it and am glad i got a chance to be a part of the passaround.. it's got smooth flowing lines that are very comfortable and user friendly..

here's some specs:

-7 1/2" overall.
-3 1/2" blade.
-1/8" thick O1 steel.
-oak handles.

here's some pics..

like John's knives, the sheaths they come with are built to last, this one came with a bomber dangler style sheath..

some in hand shots.. i have Med. sized hands..

i touched up the knife a little when it got to me.. then it was good to go.. it carved and made notches in this hazel wood, no problem.. it felt super comfortable too, the oak scales had a nice natural warm feeling to them..

even though it didn't get a chance to take this one out to the woods, it saw daily use amongst my kitchen knives...:D it was solid performer..

Hi mtnfolk mike -

Nice! Thanks for the pictures -

I am not much of a mountain man myself, so I'll stick to cutting up onions and ribs and carrots with that puppy.

I may try to do a fuzz stick - I should have my Keppie before I get the scandi, so it will be a treat to compare two of Stomper's fine blades for you all.

best regards -

Nice review. I like when knives are used for real world tasks as opposed to the "what ifs".

Mike I'm sorry buddy I was sure I'd already posted a reply on this thread but your e-mail made me check it out again !!!!:o ( I'm not alone in missing it though as even John hasn't commented !)

Great review and great pics, I'm sure my review won't have the great close-ups that yours does but I am looking forward to trying this knife out and will be sure to give my feedback !!!!!

Great review, Mike. I look forward to checking this one out after pitdog has had a go at it. It seems like this one would be the ideal companion to an axe and a multi-tool in a Nessmuk trio.

Best,

- Mike
