I am not sure why this design has not become popular; it is in my opinion true to the Nesmuk design and is a thin blade, as he specified.

This is a very useful knife that John made a few years back and Darkmatter agreed to make a beautiful sheath for it - I find myself taking this knife on hikes - it is small, light and large enough to do the business.....

I've tried to bring the Nessmuk style back, but except for the minis, there does not seem to be any interest. I don't know why, it's a good outdoors pattern.

I like that pattern too. And just like the Roach Belly, it doesn't get the love they deserve.

I plan on getting two nessmuks this year with some local Oak I have drying. The two knives will be gifts for my dad and grandad.
They both are big hunters and I thought it would be neat for them to have a skinning knife with wood from our hunting club.

I want both of their initials stamped into their knives to make them even more personal.

Speaking of Oak, arent both the knives above handled in torched Oak?

I think there is plenty of interest in the Nessmuk. On another forum a maker is doing a big group buy of just Nessmuks. I'm getting one there and I just scored a Busse Muk LE. It's my favorite pattern knife. Same with my hiking buddy. I collect them in different steels and handles

The muk patterned blade has recently earned my respect. Have a Muk and Fork on order with you (carving set gift), just bought a used FF Muk, a Busse Muk is on the wishlist............

The nessmuk is the design that first brought me to John's knives. I still don't have one but someday John will get the perfect chunk of ebony and I won't be able to resist.

Nice looking leather. It looks indestructable.
