this bad boy showed up today and it's awesome. a freaking tank but still light and fast in the hand. I can't really get out and beat on it for about a week but I am very please. I'll post up some simple pics here in a minute of it getting a little use :) specs are 14 inches long, 1/4 thick 01 steel, 7 inches from spike to edge. handle is about 1 1/4 inches wide (I can never decide which is the best way to describe this lol)

well I went out and chopped some hard oak with it and it's a freaking beast. using the spike to smack into the end you can damn near split 4 inch plus rounds with it. it has some serious bite even on hard wood. very great product. it's really hard to get the great orange scales to show but I finally got one. I know I suck with the camera but you get the idea lol. if you need a great entry tool, or a indestructible hawk this is it. I haven't thrown it yet but it should work fine for that also. it would make a great camp hawk too.

ohhh and the obligatory 7 chop test. busse bwm, jk spike hawk max and belt hawk. by far the spike hawk does the most damage. it's not a great photo but you can kinda see it.

Nice Hawk! I'm jealous, but I think I like the Urban Hawk the best, all of JK's designs look great though.

the urban hawk is a good looker for sure. any of his hawks are great, same with is blades. I just love this spike hawk. I can't put it down lol

Very nice. I like the clean lines and utilitarian products John makes...at great prices too!

Hi grunt -

Nice! Looks like the Spiker wins the seven whack test!

I like the orange too - it would be hard to lose that in a campsite.

Thanks for the picture and the review -

best regards -

Looks good. Thanks for the review. I also agree, all of the 'hawks look good.

That thing is sweet, looks like a mini firefighter axe!

I kinda thought this also. it's great. I can't put it down and just love beating on the firewood with it. I can't wait to get her out in the woods and see how it does with some camp work. I would also like to get a car to destroy lol

I like the orange one.

Just curious though- what if we round the edge of the neck so it goes easy on the choke up? It does look sharp to me.

it's not sharp. chocking up on it is no problem at all. I haven't got to really uses it a crazy amount but I have been holding it and messing with it constantly and no problems but I can see where it does look a bit sharp.
