Hello All,

So I won a JK tin knife in an Altoids competition (Here) and was fortunate enough to receive it form the maker himself when I met up with him at the "MI Spring Gathering" (Here) where a bunch of us JK nuts group together and stare at each others knives.

It's a neat little 1/8" o1 steel knife and when John gave it to me he asked if I was going to put handles on this one to. i find it hard to say no to that.

Anyway, I then came home eager to get going and proceeded to break two sets of walnut burl scales for this little knife and felt it had earned a WIP thread.

First set of broken burl

Second set didn't get a picture, wasn't in a picture taking mood, but I have now slapped on a very poorly fitted pair of scales to it with brass pins

As you can see I wasn't even polite enough to protect it while clamping for the epoxy

and I was lavish with the epoxy to

This is walnut burl as well but a scrap piece from a knife handle I have done before, not wasting any more wood, and not using any more wood I'm not sure of for this little devil ;) Juts on the off chance it wasn't me who caused the trouble (but it was)

Anyway, this thing's a mean little cutter so i'm going to tape it up and get to sanding soon, going to be a little more work then usual because I did such a poor fit t begin with but I think it'll work out, looking forward to adding this to an edc rotation, it's a fancy little thing for something so simple.

Thanks for looking

I always enjoy watching you WIP pics on your builds. Sometimes, it looks like a bomb blew up in your shop during the work, LOL, but the end result is always great!

:D I didn't know what you meant at first then I thought "oh, yeah,I see what he means" ;)

I normally have more then one thing going at once and cleanup after each "set" is done, right now the tables covered in little leather punches because i was making a sheath for the ultralight hunter :)

That came out great! BTW - Hanna would be happy to see you still wearing the wristband.

That turned out SWEET! I wonder how long it will take someone with small hands to talk you out of it.:D

Nice job, Peter -

You do a great job on these - I am liking the nice rounded handle.

Thanks for taking time to do the pictures of your work in process.
