JKM-1 Handle Type

Can anyone tell me does the JMK-1 have a full tang or a rattail tang and how hard would it be to change the handle? Or would it be possible to send some handle material to the Kamis and have them make me a special JMK-1?

Full tang...ought to be super easy to change. Drill out or punch out the pins, pop off the slabs, mount new slabs.

I may do this with my customized one...antler would be sweet and I wouldn't have to climb in the shark tank!

Would it be eaiser to do the choil without the handles on as well ?

Selecting/designing the choil would be easier I would think after the swap. It has to flow properly...and that may change after the regrip.

As for cutting it...I don't think there would be a nickle's worth of difference either way. It's the design of it that matters...the machining is easy.

Just be a little easier because you wouldn't have too use any care too not hit the handle material.
There's also the possibility that you could cut the choil in too far back if you weren't careful with the handles off though.

Was the JKM-1 you modified unmarked, mine has Kumar's marks and don't wanna remove the marks so can i just make the choil a little more forward.
