At long last I have a chance to post a mini-review of a wood handled, Bura JKM I got from Uncle Bill several months ago.

The basic knife design is very nice. Sturdy, thick-bladed - looks like it would be a real workhorse. Just the ticket for when you don't want to carry even the smallest real khuk.

My JKM arrived with a few problems. The edge was almost dull from the middle of the belly to the tip, though quite sharp towards the handle. I corrected that via the excellent sharpening instructions in the FAQ :) However, the "profile" of the very tip of the blade is slightly round vs. coming to a sharp point. There's a tad bit too much metal to remove there for even my buddy's diamond hone, so I'll leave it as is until I can find someone with the proper equip to fix it. It doesn't affect the day-to-day usability of the knife much at all, but it would be nice to have a truly sharp tip on occasion.

Next project is to try some of the woodchuck techniques I've seen here to bring out the shine in the handle. Now where did I put that Murphy's Oil Soap...?

You could always grind or hone the spine near the tip to meet the tip in a more acute point...easier than having to match edge geometries and take material off the blade...might result in a clip looking point if you hafta take off more then a few mm's...

Ferrous, yeah, if I came at it from that side, it would give a clip looking point...
