(i'm a little late on this) last sunday jack and his son stopped over for a visit. he brought over a few knives for me to check out that he made which were scandi grinds. he makes some nice knives too
. after checking out his knives we went to the basement where i taught him a little more on using the paper wheels. i touched up the edge on k II since i have been working on the edge and showed him how well it slices.
i also showed him my belt sander which is perfect for someone who doesnt want to do a hollow grind. jack uses a 1" sander and i showed him how much easier it would be to do his scandi grinds on a 2" wide belt.
i also showed him how to start the grind on a knife using the disc sander. since we werent outside i couldnt actually do any grinding but i gave him the general idea. if he ever gets some free time on weekends this spring i hope to have him making knives on a disc sander too.
