Anybody else looking for a job in this tough economy?

I was wondering about this too. I was almost gonna ask Spark for a special thread where folks can post job info (if they actually know of anyone hiring atm) and could possibly trade job search info and ideas. I know several folks have posted about losing their job here.
 
I was at the mall, and quite a few of the retailers had job postings displayed in the windows, FWIW...

I think quite a few people who are currently jobless wait to find a job in their chosen profession, which leads to significant gaps in employment history. When I was hiring/firing/managing for a major dept. store's asset protection dept, the first thing I would look at on a job application is employment history: unemployment gaps between jobs, short work durations, and if the applicant was currently employed.

So, my suggestion would be to get any job you can; you can always job search in your chosen profession, but having ANY job is better than waiting at home, doing nothing.
