I got this beauty in the mail yesterday...it's everything I had hoped for and more. Joe really done this one right. I truly cannot find anything to criticize. The nail nick is one of the best I've seen...it's clean and crisp. The blade centers perfectly. Fabulous relieved liners, and tight lock up, not even bit of play in the blade and that says a lot for a folder of this MAGNITUDE:eek: The blade grinds are clean and very symmetrical and the hand rubbed finish is perfect as well. This is only one of many knives I look forward to receiving from Joe in the near future:thumbup: Now here are the specs: 5 1/2" closed; 9 5/8" open. 416 Stainless bolsters and ATS-34 Blade heat treated to Rockwell 60. Serial number 70. My pics don't do it justice, but this will give you an idea of how happy I am;)

O.K., O.K., you talked me into it! You can send it to me at the following address...

All kidding aside, that's the kind of knife that reminds me why I buy all these damn things. It's a beauty! Congratulations on a really nice knife.

Darwin,

That one looks great, just as I expected. Joe's work is really great! His fit and finish are clean and his grinds are as good as I have seen.

Great pictures, as usual!

David,

I really appreciate you getting me back in touch with Joe. I think I'll have him make me a big knife the next time:D

Joe's work is top-notch-he made me a half-congress that I carry all the time-excellent fit and finish!!!

I hope Durwood does not mind me adding to his Joe Allen coke bottle thread but here is another by Mr. Allen. A little 3 5/8 inch saddle horn. S30V, red jigged bone, half stop, pinched bolster (is that the right term?). Very well done. Everything is as it should be. All is well, life is good.:D

You folks sure do have some crazy fancy nice knives... very nice, both are very nice.

Hmmm, I think I remember checking that one out online recently, Rob. Nice one.

I've looked all over for a web site or some way of throwing more business Mr. Allen's way. Can somebody help out? Thanx...

Mike

Thomason, that's a great Saddlehorn! When I first met Joe in Louisville, KY a few years back he had some Saddlehorns on his table along with the Coke bottle I was so sorry I passed on. As I said before, this is only one of several knives I hope to be getting from Joe:thumbup:

I'm glad someone finally bought that red Saddlehorn! It was very, very tempting!

It's also great to see some of Joe's knives being posted here. He is doing some very nice, clean work.

Nice knives, big and small,I need to get on Joe's list.....
