I got this from Joe last week, but haven't had any time to post the pics. Joe said he made it from a Pattern he had which was a Eureka Jack. Joe modified the pattern some and reversed the blade orientation. I think it came out great. The handle material is Amber Bone Stag. It is a tad over 3 3/4" closed and Open is a hair under 6 1/2". Milled/relieved liners and bolsters, half stops, and great blade action. The blades are perfectly centered in the troughs too. I have a long list of knives coming from Joe, but this one was one that Joe finished up and offered to me...I like these kind of surprises!

Here a pic of the backsprings that Joe asked me to post. This pic makes the blades look smaller than they are, but it shows of the precision fitting of the backsprings and liners.

Nice knife. Looks like you couldn't slip a whisper between the backspring and liner. :)

Durwood,This one is a masterpeice! That backspring shot really came out great, showing off the fit & finish.I have to get more of these Joe Allen knives.
I can't wait to see some more patterns, too.

Darwin, what a piece of work, I have not seen many that would equal that fit and finish. Great Score, congrats to maker and new owner.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Joe watches the forum and I know these nice comments mean a lot to him. Like I said, I have several already coming from Joe, and I think of something new I want from him almost everyday:D

Thanks Guys for the kind words, this was a first in this type, so not all the bugs are worked out, but it isnt bad either. Im just getting into slip joints more in the last two years,so I'll always be learning. I should have a stag handled back pocket next week to put on here.

Joe/Darwin - the fit and finish on this knife look absolutely terrific. Nice score Darwin. I too am in line for one from Joe. Seeing pictures like this really help with the wait. Keep up the good work Joe.
Regards, Rick

Joe,
Good to see you post here! I can't wait to see that back pocket pattern, I'm sure it will look great like all your other work I have seen so far. Keep up the good work!

Guys don't let Joe's modesty fool you...his work is way above average, trust me. Ask someone who owns one of Joe's knives:thumbup:
